Kayak Oyster Farm Tour

Freeport, Maine

Get the ultimate taste of Maine! Board a tandem kayak for a scenic guided paddle across Maquoit Bay, with a stop at Mere Point Oyster Farm to sample their fresh oysters.

We’ll start with a brief demonstration where you’ll learn basic strokes and techniques for paddling a two-person tandem kayak. Then it’s off to the water, where our Registered Maine Guides will lead you on a leisurely paddle to a working oyster farm. While at the floating farm, you’ll receive a tour of the oyster operation, learn about the growing aquaculture industry on the coast of Maine, and enjoy a complimentary six oyster sampling (you’ll have an opportunity to purchase more oysters upon arrival).

On the way back, our guides will lead you on an interpretive tour, sharing their expert knowledge of the plants, wildlife, and local history of Casco Bay. You’ll experience a mixture of rocky islands and quiet coves together with Maine's stunning array of wildlife, including seals, osprey, and American bald eagles.

All necessary kayaking equipment is included.
